What is the definition of trust?

Trust is defined as a firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone. It means that they are reliable, honest, transparent, and dependable. If you want a good relationship, trust is the foundation. If your partner cannot be trusted, your relationship is doomed. It will undermine your love and eventually destroy your marriage if you are constantly wondering where your spouse is, what they are doing and who they are with.

Trust is defined as having a “firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something,” but there are different levels of trust.  How much should you trust someone you just met?  How much can you trust your family?  You may trust that a new
friend or dating partner will show up when you have plans, but you may not want to trust them with the scariest secrets from your past.  Realize that in the age of internet revenge porn and websites devoted to trashing exes, you should carefully evaluate how much you share with someone new, even if you “trust” them.

The definition of trust is to firmly believe in the reliability, truth or ability of someone or something. If you trust someone you are fully convinced that they will do what they say and that they will not let you down in any way. You do not have any doubts about them and you feel confident in your relationship with that person because you trust them as your friend and confidant. Trust is an abstract concept, but it can be measured by the actions and outcomes which will prove whether a person is indeed trustworthy or not. Trust is something which must be earned and proved.
