Pregnancy can be hard on a woman’s body even when everything goes well. To give yourself the best chance at a healthy pregnancy, be sure to get adequate rest. Don’t assume you know how much you should be sleeping; follow your body’s cues instead. Take care of your overall health and lifestyle choices, such as eating right and exercising in moderation. Stop smoking and consult your physician about reducing or eliminating prescription drugs while you’re pregnant. Be sure you are actively managing stress levels too, as stress hormones can affect your pregnancy. Deep breathing, yoga and meditation are known to help with stress.
