Does asking questions about relationships really help or should we sort out problems on our own?

Yes it does! How else would you expect to fix something you're unsure about than to ask. There are a multitude of sources that you can get relationship advice from. I do think that the little things can be sorted out by you and your partner thorugh a little compromising but for the more challenging issues, definitely seek help.

Asking questions definitely help, especially if this is your first marriage. Nobody knows everything and you are bound to run into some issues that you have no idea how to handle. Wherever you get your advice from, let it be from a licensed professional. You don't want to try bad advice when the situation may already be bad.

It is always better to identify potential problems before they are actual problems; and yes, asking the questions definitely does help.  Some couples may be able to sort out problems on their own just fine; but generally speaking, issues are handled much better when they are not brought up at critical moments.  When people become angry or upset, their cognitive functioning decreases; meaning they are less likely to retain information, process, and act in the most rational way. By settling differences while you’re both in positive spirits, you potentially eliminate future explosions and irrational behavior.
