Marriage counseling can be very appropriate in helping an individual work through trust issues. On the individual side of counseling, an individual may gain insight in how past experiences have stymied trust. In those cases in which a family agrees to true couple’s therapy, the counselor may be able to help the couple develop tools that can help the relationship become a more appropriate vessel for trust, openness, vulnerability and the like. Simply put, counseling is always a good step to take when trust issues creep into the marriage.
