Keep it casual - you don't want to scare them off right away. Don't talk about yourself all the time. Don't be too pushy when asking questions about the other person. Compliment the person early on during the conversation. You could be brave and just tell the person how you feel, but this could frighten them off. Don't do all the running - let them do some of it as well. Don't take it too seriously or you may land up getting hurt. The idea of flirting is to have fun while finding out whether or not the person is interested in you.

Flirting can be a lot of fun and an exciting adventure. Be able to make the person feel special and desired, but in a tactful and not distasteful way. Be confident and courageous, but not too forward to push the other back. Touch, but in a non-threatening friendly way with very gradual escalation without lingering. Provide and loving and thoughtful complement without shown expectation. Use a nickname to catch his or her attention. Be natural and show true interest in getting to know him or her. Most importantly be yourself and don’t try too hard or it may go the opposite direction.
