What is a relationship? Why is it so complicated?

A relationship is any union of two or more people. And I think that’s part of the biggest problem right there. Whenever more than one person is involved, there is another point of view to factor in. All of a sudden you have to think about the other person as much, if not more, than you think about yourself. Being in a healthy relationship means being less selfish than what we’re used to.

A relationship can be so complicated because it means that each person in the relationship has to each give their all into it. This means that each independently has to let go of their own agendas, ideas, desires, selfish pursuits to a degree to put the partner before themselves. This is not an easy task for anyone. A relationship is limited in the closeness and intimacy that can be gained without this type of heart from each contributing partner in it. A relationship is the giving equally to each other in mind and heart and can be complicated when one holds on to too much.

A relationship is any matter of interacting with another whether it be in a romantic relationship, work relationship, friends.

What makes it complicated is when external factors interfere or when personalities clash to the point where the two members do not get along.  When there are clashes with the two individuals to the point where it affects their daily way of living, it is time to terminate the relationship and move onto healthier relationships.
