According to a survey published in the Journal of Family Psychology, couples with premarital education reported higher levels of marital satisfaction and experienced a 30 percent decline in the likelihood of divorce over five years.

Premarital counseling gives couples the opportunity to explore their relationship and help solidify a happy marriage. Asking questions in counseling that a person is nervous to ask on their own opens the door to honesty.

Yes. It gives you an idea of what you should be talking about first with the counselor so that the first few sessions are profitable.

Asking pre marital counseling questions does really help – there are many aspects of our lives we don’t give much thought to.  In marriage, these aspects can be the subject of an explosive fight.  Questions around spending habits, what’s most important to you, suggested scenarios, financial planning, family planning, and even questions around politics, pets, legal/criminal, household chores, gender roles and responsibilities, and questions about past relationships are all relevant.
