Would it be helpful to have an outside, uninvolved individual evaluate our situation and offer suggestions on fixing our problems?

What issues do you think we need to address? Where do you think I am falling short? Do you feel safe enough to discuss all these issues?

Are my reactions the right ones, to encourage both of us to do better? Do you need support in areas that I am not helping in?

Before marrying, there are myriad of possible questions that can be asked to help partners get to know one another better and start planning their future.  Questions are on a variety of topics, one common question inquires about how the couple might deal with conflicts that arise.  Will they fight about it?  Get help from family and friends?  Communicate? Thinking about these areas will be important now, rather than later, as you can start to create a plan for how you will cooperate in all sorts of situations.
