Are you thinking about popping the question? Or maybe you're getting ready to have the big 'where is this thing going?' conversation with your partner. Either way, giving marriage some thought is definitely a smart idea.
If you're on the fence about whether to get hitched, here are some pros and cons of marriage to help you decide:
PROS OF GETTING MARRIED:
A lifelong partner to love
Stability and routine
You have someone to lift you up when you're down
A working partner will lower your financial stresses
You get to hang out with your best friend every day
Great sex whenever you want it
No more bad first dates!

CONS OF GETTING MARRIED:
You are now officially tied to someone else's life, including their annoying friends and meddlesome family (or hey! maybe you'll get fantastic in-laws!)
While there are many financial benefits to being married, there is also a downside. If your spouse has debt, you have officially inherited it. If they have bad spending habits, that means your money is at risk of being wasted.
Marriage is hard. You will go through ups and downs and may not always feel so warm and fuzzy about each other.
Weddings are freakishly expensive
The divorce rate isn't awesome
You're committing yourself to one person for the rest of eternity
In the end, the decision on whether or not to get married is entirely yours - duh! Ask yourself what kind of life/future you want. Once you know the answer, your future path will seem clear!
