Buying gifts for nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents… those are all easy when compared with buying a gift for the most important person in your life: your husband.
Why is buying a gift for the love of your life so hard? Maybe it’s because you are together all the time, and maybe you get each other stuff throughout the year. So when it comes to Christmas you don’t want to get just anything. You want to get THE THING. So you have to dig a little deeper, think a little harder, and come up with something really meaningful.
If you have wracked your brain but are still a little stuck, here are some ideas about what to buy your husband for Christmas this year.
You can’t go wrong with socks, ties, work shirts, tools, or body wash. You know they’ll all get used. These are probably good stocking gift ideas.
Photos are a timeless gift that can tug at the heart strings. Photobooks from companies like Shutterfly or MyPublisher could include family photos, stories, and more. You could even scan and upload your husband’s childhood photos to make a personal photo book.
There are some easy-to-use video software out there, and apps also. You could create a slideshow and add music, or go through videos and mash them together. Just send your husband the link Christmas morning or have the video put on a DVD.
If your husband loves Star Wars or other movies, shows, comic books, etc., check around for merchandise made for the ultimate fan. T-shirts, bobbleheads, or the actual comic books will bring out the kid in him.
They may seem impersonal, but they don’t have to be! Instead of just giving the gift card, make an entire package out of it. Perhaps a date night with a gift card to a restaurant and tickets to the theatre. Wrap it up with his favorite candies or a bottle of his favorite cologne.
Maybe you’ve noticed he borrows your favorite blanket a lot, or he has mentioned that he really would love a specific piece of art. Surprise him on Christmas morning and he’ll not only love the gift, but the thought behind it.
