So what’s your idea of a perfect first date? Does it include fun, adventure, nature and humour? Or is it just another hang out in a bar with just another dating prospect? Don’t get me wrong- we do enjoy drinking as much as a college freshman. But don’t you think something is unappealing about doing the same song and dance everytime you go on a date. And obviously, who wants to wake up hungover after hanging out with someone who is almost a stranger to you.
Frankly, dating today is not easy. It is much more scrolling, swiping and game-playing these days. Simply meeting someone is only the half battle, what you do afterwards is a crucial step along the path to a relationship. A movie with a nice dinner is always a classic option, but if you really want to impress them, you’ve got to think out of the box. But don’t worry, here are some wonderful ideas that can help you make a lasting impression on your partner on a first date.
1. Try outdoor cinemas
Movies are a big NO for first dates. First- you don’t get time to know and talk to each other, Second, it is so dark inside that you can’t get a nice look at each other. But outdoor cinemas are the new vibe. Here you can chat, take booze or snacks and they are not pitch black. Moreover, they tend to play old, and cult films and that way you can decide the person you are dating is legit cool or on your level.
2. Rooftop romance
Move over the candlelight dinners, now is the time for rooftop romance. Be it any place or city; there is a host of rooftop restaurants that offer panoramic views, great ambience and delicious food. Take your lady or man in the life to one of these places just before the sunset and enjoy a breathtaking evening while you get to know each other better.
3. Head to a theme park
Theme parks are not just limited to teenage birthday parties. Planning a first date to one of these amusement parks is amazing. The rides here are much fun, and the little drops on the big roller-coasters are great to initiate a little hand holding. These theme parks are great in many ways, plus you will get to eat a funnel cake and don’t kid me here, who doesn’t like it.
4. Take a coffee walk
Sitting at a coffee shop can be a little awkward, but grabbing a cup of coffee and taking a walk in the neighbourhoods is quite cute. This way you have plenty of time to talk about the thing you love. Tip: Choose a neighbourhood that is unfamiliar to both of you. This will make more of an adventure.
If you and your partner are an admirer of nature than a day spent trekking in the wilderness is also ideal for you. Just pick an easy to trek hill and set off. A full day in the company of nature far away from the city crowds will go a long way in allowing you two to spend some quality time together.
