I try to take some of that stress away from my clients by guiding them as they learn these techniques.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Release-old-patterns\"><\/span>Release old patterns<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you struggle to be vulnerable with your partner, you&rsquo;re probably stuck in patterns of denying and storing emotions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bustle.com\/p\/how-suppressing-your-emotions-in-a-relationship-can-affect-your-health-19215688\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">suppress your emotions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you literally alter your brain, teaching it to associate healthy emotions with pain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The good news is, <\/span><b>facing your vulnerability can literally rewire your brain to think and feel differently.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you rewire your brain, you&rsquo;re able to think clearer, which means you&rsquo;ll have an increased awareness of the habits you practice every day that are actually <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">damaging to your marriage<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Become conscious of the habits that don&rsquo;t actually serve you, and decide to release them while your partner does the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to create new patterns, you&rsquo;ll have to set up a structure that supports them and will support them every time you slide back into bad habits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What surroundings and triggers do you need to remove so you can move forward? Our daily thinking patterns lay the stage for what we believe and how we live our life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>In relationships, when we feel exposed, we become stressed or fearful and move towards negative thinking and withdrawal.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Try to notice when your thoughts lead you to shut down emotionally, and take time to reflect on those thoughts; are they based on reality or assumptions?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you&rsquo;re conscious of your mind and body balance, and you feel secure, you begin to deactivate your fear center, which allows <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriage.com\/advice\/relationship\/7-important-tips-to-build-trust-in-relationships\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you and your partner to build trust<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and vulnerability with one another.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Releasing negative emotions like anger, blame, suspicion, and doubt frees up space for healthy emotion regulation. Replace those emotions with gratitude and affirmation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/5578920_The_Positives_of_Negative_Emotions_Willingness_to_Express_Negative_Emotions_Promotes_Relationships\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Studies<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> conducted to realize the positives of negative emotions suggested that how negative emotions promote a relationship and give way to positive emotions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To rekindle your marriage, you must become a champion for yourself and your partner.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reinvent-your-narrative\"><\/span>Reinvent your narrative<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriage.com\/advice\/divorce\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">marriage has been on the rocks for a while<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, think back to who you used to be as a couple and what you like about those people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now think about your ideal version of yourselves as one unit &ndash; where you&rsquo;d like to go together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Assess how you&rsquo;ve been feeling and acting, what changes you want to make, and how you can make them.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Change happens when you show up, you&rsquo;re willing to be vulnerable, and you&rsquo;re willing to reinvent your story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It&rsquo;s normal to seek attention and validation in your marriage. Humans are born wired for connection &ndash; it&rsquo;s in our DNA. The truth is, physical, emotional, and mental connection is vital to our survival and our flourishing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Human connection releases dopamine into the brain and makes us happy, boosts our self-esteem, and gives our life meaning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You knew that when you were head-over-heels in love with your partner, but now? Now you&rsquo;re not so sure.
