They do water aerobics at the community pool.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kathy criticizes these women, saying she &ldquo;has better things to do with her time.&rdquo; What Kathy does with her time is sit and watch soap operas, clean house and look down on women she wishes she could be more like.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To admit that though, Kathy would have to admit to being fearful and that isn&rsquo;t somewhere she wants to go.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-Avoids-work-activities\"><\/span>4. Avoids work activities<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This person skates at work to keep from interacting with others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>They fear to take on more responsibility at work because they fear failure.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> They keep a low profile on the job.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An example, John crunches numbers for a living. That is all he does; he doesn&rsquo;t seek promotions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He goes to his office, closes his door, and works on whatever assignment he has for the day. He could care less if he gets a raise or a promotion as long as he doesn&rsquo;t have to interact with others or take a chance at failing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">John eats lunch alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He doesn&rsquo;t stand around the water cooler in the mornings talking with other employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He never goes out after work for a beer with his peers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He plays it safe because as long as he is playing it safe, he doesn&rsquo;t have to worry about others possibly disapproving of something he says or does.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5-Avoids-conflict-at-all-costs\"><\/span>5.
