Infidelity can tear marriages apart. The infidelity was a huge wake-up call to them.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even so, it was a tough time in their marriage. For a long time, they weren&rsquo;t sure if they would make it. What if you can work it out?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And if they do make an attempt, what is the probability of them to avoid divorce after cheating?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A few surveys conducted tried to answer the question: <\/span><b>&lsquo;what percentage of marriages survive infidelity?&rsquo;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though accurate numbers of affairs in marriage can be hard to obtain due to their delicate nature, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dearpeggy.com\/results.html\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">according to Dearpeggy.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, of those surveyed, 76 percent had spouses who had affairs but were still married.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-ph\/lifestyle\/relationships\/this-is-how-many-couples-survive-an-affair\/ar-AAB3yYI\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">survey suggested<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that only 15.6% of the 441 people surveyed were able to steer clear of divorce due to infidelity. However, 54.5% opted for divorce after cheating immediately.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since those visiting the website were more likely to be in that situation, the national numbers are likely to be lower.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still, no matter what the actual numbers are, the survey proves that there are people who stay married after infidelity. No matter what the divorce rate after infidelity might be, you can still come through.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In many cases, infidelity doesn&rsquo;t have to equal divorce. In many cases, couples can work out their issues and move forward together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dan and Shelly finally sat down one night and told each other all their thoughts and feelings.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dan was very honest with Shelly, and he whole-heartedly apologized for what he had done. They decided to go to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriage.com\/advice\/counseling\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">marriage counseling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because they had hope that their marriage would be okay, they were both willing to do what it took. They went to counseling, and in the process, Shelly realized that she hadn&rsquo;t been putting Dan first.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While it wasn&rsquo;t an excuse for what Dan did, she decided right then to change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the end, Dan and Shelly were able to work things out. It took a long time for the dark cloud of infidelity to go away entirely, but it finally did.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And they are happier now than they&rsquo;ve ever been because they are both putting each other first.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dan and Shelly were lucky in many ways, and they put in the work to make sure their marriage lasted through infidelity and didn&rsquo;t lead to divorce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many others aren&rsquo;t so lucky; not only do they have the infidelity to deal with emotionally, but now they have a divorce and settlement to take care of.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Every couple should ask themselves, will it be more worth the effort to stay married<\/b>, or will it be more worth it to take a divorce when a spouse cheats?
