People who wanted to work around those structures and social rules and found or created ways to cheat to attain their goals. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And nothing has changed over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cheaters have simply become more sophisticated as cheaters.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Think about it. In times gone by, if a man wanted to cheat on his wife, he had a much more difficult time doing so: no cars to smooch in, no texting, email or other ways to communicate electronically, no planes to take for rendezvousing away from hometowns.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nowadays-cheating-in-many-ways-is-much-much-easier\"><\/span>Nowadays, cheating in many ways is much, much easier<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Methods for cheating have become more advanced, and the passage of time has not changed the human instinct and temptation for some people to cheat. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our highly technological era has merely refined cheating methods as cheaters have become more and more inventive and technologically savvy. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&ldquo;What is in a name? T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hat which we call a rose \/ by any other name would smell as sweet.&rdquo;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recognize that quote from your high school Shakespeare class? &nbsp;Remember what it means? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are not talking botany here. It means when it comes to cheating, &nbsp;that whatever you call a cheater, he or she is still a cheater. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Look at all the names we have for cheater: adulterer, mistress, lover, two-timer, paramour, philanderer, womanizer, unfaithful spouse (or boyfriend or girlfriend), husband or wife snatcher, a bit on the side and the list could go on and on. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What it comes down to is this: &nbsp;one member of a relationship is not being faithful to the other member. &nbsp;Usually, one partner does not know about the other partner&rsquo;s infidelity. This can be a one-time event or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriage.com\/advice\/infidelity\/repeated-infidelity-in-marriage\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">one partner may be a habitual cheater<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Types-of-cheating\"><\/span>Types of cheating<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you think there is a certain type of person who is prone to cheating? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most professionals believe there are different personality types that tend to be cheaters. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drkenrosenberg.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Kenneth Paul Rosenberg<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> thinks there is.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;His book, Infidelity: Why Men and Women Cheat, details seven personality traits that increase someone&rsquo;s chances of cheating. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>His seven are:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul><li>Narcissism <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&mdash;feeling self-entitled and putting yourself first.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Lacking empathy <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&mdash; not being able to understand or share the feelings of another.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Grandiosity<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &mdash; an unrealistic sense of superiority and sustained view that you are better than others, especially when it comes to sexual prowess.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Being impulsive<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &mdash; making decisions with big consequences very suddenly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Thrill seeker &ndash; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being a novelty or thrill seeker.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Fearing commitment &ndash; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriage.com\/advice\/mental-health\/avoidant-attachment\/\">avoidant attachment style<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><p>Self-destructive streak <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&ndash; Being self-destructive or masochistic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course one must ask, why would anybody want to become involved with any of these personality types in the first place since they are all rather undesirable traits?<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"And-where-are-those-cheaters-hanging-out\"><\/span>And where are those cheaters hanging out?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-33920 size-full\" title=\"And where are those cheaters hanging out\" src=\"https:\/\/image.marriage.com\/advice\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/And-where-are-those-cheaters-hanging-out.jpg\" alt=\"And where are those cheaters hanging out\" width=\"804\" height=\"350\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Which nation do you think has the highest percentage of admitted cheaters? &nbsp;Thailand takes that (dis)honor with 51% of the populace admitting that they had cheated in a relationship. The following nine countries are all in Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is the list of admitted cheaters in order:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &nbsp;Denmark 46%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &nbsp;Italy 45%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Germany 45%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> France 43%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Norway 41%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Belgium 40%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Spain 39%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> United Kingdom 36%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Finland 31%<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sponsor of this study was Durex, the condom maker! &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can read more about it<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coconuts.co\/bangkok\/news\/news-durex-condoms-thai-men-most-unfaithful-in-the-world\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &nbsp;So if you are interested in having an affair, head to Thailand or Europe. &nbsp;Americans admit to cheating 17% of the time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, all of these statistics should be read with a grain of salt since they are the percentage of admitted cheaters and there really is no way of determining whether the participants in the study are telling the truth or not. &nbsp;Nor does the study specify which sex the participants were.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Which-country-has-the-highest-percentage-of-married-women-who-admit-cheating\"><\/span>Which country has the highest percentage of married women who admit cheating?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike the previous research, this<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamiiforums.com\/threads\/top-10-countries-with-the-most-unfaithful-wives.994686\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">study<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> had only married women reporting if they had cheated on their husbands. &nbsp;And the country with the highest percentage of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriage.com\/advice\/infidelity\/physical-signs-your-wife-is-cheating\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">unfaithful wives<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is Nigeria, with 61% of married women claiming that they had been unfaithful in their marriage. &nbsp;Here is the rest of the rankings from a highest number of married women engaging in affairs:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Thailand 59%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> United Kingdom 42% (Compare it to the statistic of 36% for the country as a whole, above.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Malaysia 39%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Russia 33%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Singapore 19%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> France 16.3%. &nbsp;The figure for married men who engaged in extra-marital sex is a bit higher at 22%.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &nbsp;USA 14%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Italy 12%<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Finland 10%<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Again, it is best to be a bit skeptical about the study, but it is interesting to view the rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"So-all-in-all-what-does-this-mean\"><\/span>So all in all, what does this mean?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Statistics and personality types are essentially meaningless when it comes down to the individual. &nbsp;It is beneficial to read and learn about types of cheating, but again it is an individual&rsquo;s own<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriage.com\/advice\/infidelity\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decision<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as to whether he or she will be engaging in an affair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just because you might be married to a Thai man or a Thai woman does not mean that they are cheating on you (or that you are cheating on your husband or wife.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the former president of the United States Ronald Reagan once stated, &ldquo;Trust but verify.&rdquo;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false,"raw":""},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cheating. &nbsp;Even the word sounds bad. &nbsp;What do you know about cheating?
