Wedding Wednesday: A White-Hot Trend

Now that it’s summer, the wedding trend season is officially upon us, and this summer seems to be about just one thing: standing out. Last Friday, we covered a trunk show in southern California where bright, bold colors and round bouquets stole the scene, and this week, for Wedding trend Wednesday, we’re highlighting the blazing white-on-white trend recently spotted at The Wedding Salon in Miami, Florida.

If you’ve thought that white for weddings is “old” and traditional, think again! Honestly, we’ve never seen white like this before—all color-coordinated (hey, there are different shades of white, from ivory to dazzling diamond-white) and blinged-out with glittering details, too. White with crystal accents were a reoccurring theme, and for good reason (can you say luxe, classy, and glamorous?)

One highlight included Ana Paz’s all-white cakes, covered in Swarovski crystals—inspired by the trend of Swarovski-belted wedding gowns. No doubt, the frosted confection glimmered under the reception lighting. Panache Style also followed the white/crystal mix with their fantasy canopy, complete with sky-high feathers floating above a sea of crystals. White flowers were also popular all throughout the event, and some designers even used pops of singular color to add interest, detail, and drama. For example, Costa d’Este Beach Resorts added a single fuchsia color accent to their all-white display with fuchsia orchids mixed into the sea of all white roses, while Torrellas Special Events added red as their accent to an all-white table.

Basically, The Wedding Salon showed that brides can never go wrong with an all-white wedding, complete with crystal details and a small glimpse of color. Here are just a few photos we were able to snag, courtesy of May Bagnell Photography:
