Groom Wedding Cake?

That’s right grooms, another something us brides are tossing your way so you can take part in the wedding planning process. A cake!! We have Chris Easter from The Man Registry giving us the scoop on the groom’s cake…Take it away Chris!

What’s a Groom’s Cake?

Looking for a wedding detail the groom can get excited about? Look no further than the groom’s cake. Yes you heard that right guys, there’s a special cake made just for you to enjoy on your wedding day.

In addition to the larger traditional wedding cake that the married couple shares with their guests on their wedding day, many weddings also have a smaller, one-tier cake, called a groom’s cake, that’s tailored to the groom and his interests. While the traditional wedding cake may look similar to the bride’s dress or be adorned in flowers and pearls, the groom’s cake is much more masculine.

The groom’s cake typically highlights something the groom loves – whether it’s his biggest hobby, his favorite sports team, a beloved pet or what he does for a living. For example, if the groom loves to golf, the groom’s cake might resemble a golf ball. If he’s a private pilot, the cake could look like his favorite airplane. Is he a die-hard football fan? The cake could display his team’s logo or mascot. The key is to create a cake that’s meaningful and representative of the groom.

This cake can also be a bit more adventurous with flavors and fillings. While the main wedding cake may offer more traditional flavors that the majority of guests would enjoy, the groom’s cake could be more unique and unexpected, such as German chocolate cake with peanut butter cream filling or banana cake with coconut cream filling. Guys, go nuts and enjoy your cake!
