This Week in Weddings

As usual, celebrities are always keeping us busy with their own unique take on weddings. There were also some interesting and insprirational stories this week as well. If you have any stories to share or feel like we missed big news feel free to let us know via Twitter or Facebook.

1. A Pennsylvania couple lost $3,600 in cash and sure enough, a good samaritan returned the money to the couple. After the wedding reception of David and Ashley Marasco they drove off, little did they know their wedding album and envelope full of cash was on top of the car! Brennan Breene, the good samaritan found the envelope in the middle of the road and promptly returned it to the grateful couple. Great to know there are honest people out there.

2. MIA just revealed to GQ Magazine (July issue) that she wants to get married in a white suit. Pretty cool and different, reminiscent of Carrie from Sex and the City  wearing a suit as the “best gal” in the first scene of Sex and the City 2. The wedding is all about expressing the style of the couple and MIA is always on the cutting edge; so more power to her. Her spread in GQ is absolutely stunning!

3. Speaking of celebs and what they’re wearing to weddings, Harrison Ford wore jeans to his wedding. Now I’m all about being comfortable but that sounds a little too comfortable especially for the wedding day. But the wedding is all about the couple, so whatever they’re cool with should be respected. Friends commented that it represented their laid back style and sincerity with each other, which I can admire. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart got married in Santa Fe, New Mexico where Ford is shooting a movie.

4. Chelsea Clinton’s wedding is apparently taking place in July 31st in New York state. The details are pretty hush hush but one can assume that the guest list will be a massive list of some of the world’s most important people. The wedding has a guest list of about 400 people, seems like it’s going to be a huge! Chelsea is marrying fiance Marc Mezvinsky, an investment banker.

5. Prince Albert II is finally engaged at 52 years old. The Prince of Monaco is getting married to a woman 20 years his junior from South Africa, Charlene Wittstock. She will have the challenge of filling in the shoes of Grace Kelly, Monaco’s last princess (wife of Prince Albert). Prince Albert II suggested their wedding date will take place next summer. He announced his engagement to the principality this past week.
