2010 End of Year Celebrity Engagements

For most of us, it probably felt like 2010 was basically over once we left the office for the holidays. But in Hollywood, the last two weeks of 2010 have been a flurry of star-studded engagement announcements. Here at Marriage.com, we’d like to congratulate all the newly betrothed Tinseltown twosomes! Check out the latest set of nearlyweds:

  • Natalie Portman announced her engagement to Black Swan choreographer Benjamin Millepied. The couple also announced that Portman is pregnant with their first child
  • Country singer LeAnn Rimes and actor Eddie Cibrian (of CSI: Miami), who met on the set of the Lifetime TV movie Northern Lights, got engaged over the holidays and announced it via tweet
  • Hugh Hefner also used Twitter to share his happy news: he’s engaged to his 24-year-old girlfriend, Crystal Harris
  • Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz tweeted “SHE SAID YES” after proposing to girlfriend Tristan Prettyman on Christmas Eve
  • Ginnifer Goodwin (of Big Love and He’s Just Not That Into You) got engaged to fellow actor Joey Kern

And this is just the most recent set of engagements in what must have been a very busy year for Los Angeles jewelers. Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey both got engaged – to other people. Kelsey Grammer announced his engagement to Kayte Walsh while the final days of his marriage to his last wife, Camille, play out on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Rocker and near-death-survivor Bret Michaels is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, with whom he has two children.

Of course, the wedding to watch for will take place across the pond: at long last, Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton. We haven’t had a royal wedding in about 30 years, and we’re excited to see how this one plays out! Hey, royal family, can we get invites to the engagement party?
